Sarah has been a percussionist since she was seven years old. Her early performance accomplishments in high school include being in the Greater Baltimore Youth Symphony Orchestra, all-county honors band, side-by-side honors band with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, all-state solo and ensemble, and even participating in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2004, 2005 and 2009.

Sarah is a graduate of Towson University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education with a concentration in Percussion. While at Towson, she was a four-year member of the Towson Tiger Marching Band. Outside of college, she has an extensive background in marching percussion, as she was a five-year marching member of Drum Corps International. Sarah performed with the 2009 DCI silver-medalist Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps from Ft. Mill, South Carolina. Before Carolina Crown, Sarah marched with the Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps from Camden County, New Jersey (‘05-‘08). During the winter months, Sarah was a four-year member of the world-class indoor drumline, United Percussion, earning a gold medal at the 2007 WGI Independent Open Championships.

Teaching Experience
After she aged-out of DCI in 2009, Sarah moved on to teaching drum corps around the nation. In 2010, Sarah served as the bass tech for the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps from Des Moines, Iowa. In 2011, Sarah joined the percussion staff as the bass tech for the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps from San Antonio, Texas. In the same year, she also became the bass tech and choreography designer for United Percussion Indoor Drumline. Currently, Sarah serves as a consultant for Chesapeake Indoor Percussion, from Baltimore, MD.

Sarah has worked with many musical groups throughout the United States, with most of her instruction being focused towards percussion groups. She has taught world-class performing ensembles in Iowa, Texas, New Jersey, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland. She currently serves as the caption head and director of percussion at Calvert Hall College High School and is the assistant Band Director at Eastern Technical High School, both located in Baltimore, Maryland. She also works with several other Maryland ensembles including Westminster High School and Perry Hall High School. In her spare time, Sarah plays local gigs at area churches, theaters and schools. She is excited to continue educating music students in the area.
