Christine Skeen

Instructor

Christine Skeen is an elementary instrumental music teacher at Timonium Elementary School and Glyndon Elementary School in Baltimore county. She has been a judge and sectional leader for the BCPS All County and Junior All County ensembles, a judge for the Maryland All State ensemble, a teacher at the BCPS Music Camp, and the drumline tech for the Dulaney Marching Band.

Christine graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelors of Music in Music Education in 2017. During her time at Bucknell, she had extensive experience in jazz, symphonic band, orchestra, percussion ensemble and rock settings and learned how to effectively teach students the art of music.

As a student in Baltimore County, Christine began playing percussion and took lessons at Baltimore School for Drumming. There she learned how to become a well-rounded percussionist and found her passion for playing music. She is thrilled to be back at BSfD as an instructor. While she loves teaching larger groups during the day, the experience of working with a student one-on-one allows her to cater her lessons to the individual and be sure that their time together is a fun as it is educational.
